I’m Colm MacCárthaigh, a VP and Distinguished Engineer at Amazon Web Services, and this website is my blog. I registered the shufflesharding.com domain a few years ago to write more about Shuffle Sharding, our multi-tenant isolation technique, but the Amazon Builders’ Library ended up being a better place for that. But it’s an easy domain to remember, so here we are.
I’m from Dublin, Ireland but I’m a three time immigrant and have lived in Seattle, Washington since 2010. If you’ve never been to Seattle, try to visit. Mount Rainier, the wilderness of the Cascade and Olympic mountain ranges and forests, the waters of the Puget Sound, it’s all something very special.
